The broad objective of Talent Development at Global Group is to develop and enhance
the organization's self-renewing ability. The Talent management system, aims at
identifying people with potential; developing their talent through a structured
programme of professional and personal growth, and thereby attaining the objective
of retaining the high-potential performers/leaders. The talent management system
follows a structured programme oriented to establishing a linkage between the various
aspects of the developmental role of the Human Resource function and Organizational
The Club Orion selection process follows a highly comprehensive system of assessment.
Nominations by Superiors, followed by a rigorous evaluation process, which includes
Competency assessment, Thomas Profiling (which gives an individual's personality
profile) and CAR form completion (which is a detailed discussion of the candidate's
career achievements and career aspirations at Global Group) followed by a panel
Moving ahead, after their induction into the Club, the members undergo Career discussions
and Performance Enhancement Action Plans. These initiatives are aimed at creating
back-ups for the key roles and positions of the organization; thereby ensuring a
comprehensive Succession planning.
The development initiatives offered to these club members include a range of initiatives
spanning into job rotation, stretch goals, management development, and management
exposure. The Management Development programmes have been designed through management
institutes (IIM, S.P. Jain) as per the needs identified and have been customized
keeping the organizational context in mind.
Family Jewel Program
The Family Jewel program is a program designed for employees who function in a core
and responsible capacity handling critical portfolios. It is intended to groom the
finest talent in Global Group to take on leadership roles and decisions that drive
the company towards high growth.
This program ensures focused development through high end training and mentoring.
Employees inducted as Family Jewel members are entitled to a membership of two years
from the date of the induction. As a member of this program one can look forward
to the best of the opportunities and privileges in the form of unique employee benefit
schemes. Structured career progression through various career opportunities, monetary
advances in the form of attractive loan schemes, exclusive personal benefits for
a comfortable and convenient living are the key indicators of this exclusive club.
At present there are 46 employees who are part of the Family Jewel Program.
Business Partner Program
The business partner program is intended to nurture and develop the top management
in Global Group. These are the employees who are holding key leadership positions
in the organization. They are the employees who appreciate the importance of building
leadership within the organization through mentoring, coaching and various other
activities. The program presently covers 30 employees in Global Group.
The leadership capability of the management team has taken the company to the next
level. In order to maintain a robust leadership position and continue our journey
it is essential to identity future leaders and provide them with proper training.
GenNext facilitates the process of succession planning for key positions across
Global Group, identify future leaders for the group and provide them with a series
of developmental interventions over a period of 18 – 24 months. This would enable
the Global Group to build its leadership pipeline and prepare the Company for next
trajectory of growth.
The Group has associated itself with HR consultant, Hewitt Associates to facilitate
Project GenNext. The program is initiated with the objective (1) Strengthening the
top leadership through professional training (2) Identifying the next generation
leaders from existing talent pool (3) Analysing the strengths and areas of improvement
and training of Next generation leaders to bridge gaps in requirements of business.
